28 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along? 28 weeks

Total Weight Gain? 18 pounds

Maternity Clothes? Most definitely since I look like Gus Gus (from Cinderella) in regular shirts!

Belly? My sister so nicely exclaimed, “You got pregnant!”  Apparently this is the month that people have started to notice, which I don’t think is too bad to make it seven months before people know I’m pregnant—unless it has more to say about Josiah’s leftover baby weight.

Baby size? 16 inches (head to toe) and about 2.5 lbs.
Gender? It’s a surprise! (I think girl.  Danny thinks boy, but he has started referring to her as her.)

Movement? There is break dancing going on in there.  My stomach jumps and bounces to its own rhythm.

Sleep? Please!  I wake up sometimes at night, but so far can usually go back to sleep fairly quickly.  There are times throughout the day though when I just start falling asleep—like nap has to happen right then!

Cravings? I still really like Mexican food…but that may not have anything to do with pregnancy.

Aversions? I’m not really loving seafood right now.  And the smell of venison or lamb is very unappealing.

Symptoms? I run out of breath if I’m doing more than one thing at a time (you know, like walking across the room while also having a conversation).  And sometimes I just have to sleep—like right then.  I cry all the time too—it could be pregnancy related.

Preparing for birth? It is now after Christmas (although how it happened I’m not sure!).  The goal is to be done getting ready for Raspberry by March in case of a debut like Josiah’s.  I made a list of what needs to be done in the nursery and in Josiah’s new room.  It’s like one of those square number puzzle games where you have to move a whole bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with the project just to do the stuff you want, but progress is being made.
Labor signs? Possibly some Braxton Hicks.  I didn’t have them last time so I’m not sure but sometimes there’s tightening and I have to take a minute to breathe.

What I miss? Carrying Josiah without getting tired.  Bending over and still being able to breathe.

Best Moment this week? Definitely watching my stomach move all over the place!  It’s so neat being able to feel body parts pressing out and sometimes even shift those same ones when they are not in the most comfortable position.

14ish Months

My Stats:
Height: 27.5”
Weight: 22 lbs.
Shoe Size: 4 (almost)
Clothing Size: 12-18 months
I have 7 teeth!
Words: Dada, Mama, dog, hot, duck (for any bird actually), thanks, here, NO! (complete with adamant hand wave)
Signs: more, all done, dog, eat, drink (those two look the same), milk, fish, please, banana

Some of my favorites:

Book: Hop on Pop

Food: bread and carbs

Treat: Bananas (Yes, they have to be a treat! We don’t even say the “b” word in our house!)

Toy: kitchen stuff

Activity: going outside and reading

Animal: dog

Song: “You are my Sunshine”

Game: getting under a blanket like a tent with Mom or Dad

Accomplishments:
·         climbing into your book box
·         standing without holding onto anything
·         walking everywhere
·         first time in a dressing room
·         making choices
·         being a helper with cleaning and carrying things
·         praying while holding hands before dinner

Life's funniest moments:
I put a piece of gum in my mouth and then picked you up.  You noticed the smell and tried to smell my breath.  I huffed in your face.  You wanted it repeated.  I did.  This has now become a common occurrence.  I can’t sneak anything past you.  You’ll come up to smell my breath whenever you think something yummy is being eaten.

Mama's favorites:
You started praying with us before dinner, but my favorite was the other day when you brought me your Bible and picked a few stories to read.  There is a prayer at the end of each one and you do this little giggle with each “Amen.”  Then you were flipping through and not having me read and you took both my hands in yours wanting to prayer.  So we prayed for your owie.  Then a few minutes later you did it again, so we prayed again.  I love that you want to talk to Jesus and are learning about Him so young.  I also love your kisses and our whole bedtime routine!
